| The Plan’s internal loop road will be two and one half miles long with entrances at five points. It encircles an area of approximately two hundred acres which will become a pedestrian-priority zone. The loop road’s configuration will be the minimum required for projected traffic volumes estimated at 9,000 vehicles per day (see the Technical Booklet for the complete Traffic Report). It is expected that the loop’s character will vary over its length. A key feature of the loop will be a new | |||||||||||||||||

The Crescent will ultimately be the setting for a new group of academic buildings, a Visitor Information Center, and the new Humanities Academic Building. The existing playing fields will be relocated to the Toby Creek flood plain areas. Parking garages will be placed around the loop road. It is anticipated that most of the destination traffic will part in the garages along the loop road in peak traffic periods. A University-owned-and-operated bus transit system is also anticipated. | |||||||||||||||||
